VINTAGE PICS

This edition of Vintage Pics is dedicated to my favorite TV character: Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, which is based on the novels of the same name.

Described as "a girl of extremes" by creator Cecily von Ziegesar, she is a comical overachiever who possesses both snobbish and sensitive sides. Due to her position as queen bee of Manhattan's social scene, Blair's actions and relations are under constant scrutiny from the mysterious blogger Gossip Girl.

Leighton Meester, who portrays the character in the television series, has described Blair as being insecure about her social status. At times, this anxiety creates flaws and complexities which contribute to character development. In Meester's view, the true Blair is ultimately a "good girl" at heart.

To prepare for the part of Blair, actress Leighton Meester, a natural blonde, dyed her hair brown before auditioning, and also studied the first novel. She has described the character as multi-faceted, labeling her "a little bit of everything which is pretty amazing".

I admire Blair for sure.

MUSIC VIDEO [Karmin – Brokenhearted]

Karmin is a duo consisting of the gorgeous Amy Heidemann and the handsome Nick Noonan, who are engaged to each other! The name of the band derives from the Latin word carmen, which means "song", with a slightly altered spelling to hint at “karma".

Brokenhearted is the second single already to their debut album called Hello which will be released in the next months. And I think that this song is even better than their first single Crash Your Party.

The video makes me smile and I wish I could meet them, because they seem really nice people.

RANDOM INTERNET ALBUM COVER ART [Part 2]

It was last year when I found this kind of game and shared with you the results I got. Today I wanted to do it again ‘cause it’s so much fun!

The objective is to create your own album cover for your fiction band. These are the instructions:

1. Go to Wikipedia and click ‘Random article’ in the left column. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. Go to quotationspage.com and click ‘Random Quotes’ in the left column. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your album.

3. Go to Flickr and click ‘Interesting photos from the last 7 days’ on the right side. Third picture, no matter what it is, is your album cover.

4. Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5. Post your final album cover and tell your friends to join!

MUSIC VIDEO [Madonna – Girl Gone Wild]

Well, Madonna is Madonna, and she does a video like this if she wants.

 I was afraid she was gonna give us a lame video, but she didn’t. It’s really edgy and features some of the elements that Lady GaGa included on her Alejandro music video, like the clothes of the male dancers that consist of heels and tights. However, I think Madge’s work is sublime compared to the boring and extremely long clip of the Mother Monster.

A sinful video full of glamour, vanity, homoeroticism, sexiness and cigarettes. What else can you ask for?

BOYFRIEND [Official Single Cover]

Justin Bieber is growing up so fast.

Check out the official cover for the first single of his upcoming album, the song’s title is Boyfriend.

Everybody wants to hear the freaking song already, including me.

MUSIC VIDEO [Manu Larrouy – Je Sèche]

Manu Larrouy will finally present his new album (which was expected to come out last year) called Des Mots Doux, Des Mots Durs, translated “Sweet words, harsh words”.

 

And the second single, Je Sèche, is so hot! It really turns me on. Well, actually it’s mainly because it’s a romantic yet sexy French song talking about a lost love. The lyrics are nice, the music is cool, the voice is amazing, and the video is great.

MADONNA [MDNA Shoot]

This is the Queen of Pop being even sexier than 20 years ago!

Here are the official promos for the MDNA album, which comes out in a couple of weeks.

Her new single Girl Gone Wild is pretty good, but sounds like a mix of Celebration and Sorry.

MUSIC VIDEO [Patricia Kazadi & M. Pokora – Wanna Feel You Now]

Patricia is from Poland and Matt is from France. She will release her first album in the next months and he will also release an album -his fifth one- this month!

Wanna Feel You Now is the first Kazadi’s single, and it includes the collaboration from M. Pokora. The entire song is in English and let me tell you it exceed my expectations! The video was made in Poland and is cool. Both singers look great.

Such a sweet-electro-pop song, I can’t get it out of my mind! Well done guys.

MUSIC VIDEO [Les Enfoirés – Encore Un Autre Hiver]

Wow! I’m totally in L.O.V.E. with this song and video. I think I’ve watched it at least twenty times in the last two days!

Les Enfoirés is a group of francophone personalities conformed every year to prepare a show. They record an album every year and a DVD with the concert they made. All the money they got from albums, videos and live shows is donated to a charity organization in France that is called Restos du Cœur, which gives food to the people that need it.

This year Les Enfoirés will release the album Le Bal Des Enfoirés on March 17th. It includes the collaboration of plenty of artists as you can see in this video, which is from the single Encore Un Autre Hiver, meaning “still another winter”. Alizée and M. Pokora appear on the video, as well as Amel Bent, Jennifer, Christophe Maé and many more.
